Sutton ladies lose in gloom

Sutton Ladies II travelled to face Keyworth's first team in a summer match which turned out to be quite eventful as one player arrived late and one set was still in play when the floodlights went off.
Keyworth won by 10.5 sets to 6.5. Margaret Miller and Anne Derbyshire top scored for Sutton with 3.5 sets.

Jayne Commons and Amelyja Lazerevic took three sets, and the other pairing was Julia Parker-Moore and Doreen Fowler.

Sutton II mixed played host to the Boots and won by 11.5-6.5.

Brother and sister combination Rebecca and Christopher Wood won all six sets, being well supported by Margaret Miller and Vladimir Kourothkine with 3.5 sets and Martin Henstock and Jayne Commons with two.

Meanwhile the men’s first team started their winter campaign with a visit to Mansfield who won by 66 games to 42.

Sutton’s scores were Tom Roberts and Vladimir Kourothkine 13 v 23, Nigel Derbyshire and Jason Whitmore 16 v 20, and Roger Eggleston and Gary Wood 13 v 23.
