The top clash in the MAA Senior Cup pitted two unbeaten sides against each other.
Old Elizabethans took a first half lead through Adam McLean over Southwell Amateurs who broke away in the second half to equalise through Andew Moss.
And it was Moss who added a further goal in extra time for Southwell.
Liam Goward looked to ha
ve found the equaliser for OEs only for his shot from close range to hit the post near the end of an evenly fought encounter.
Scott Allen with four goals and Luke Slaney with two were chief marksmen when Acorn Athletic trounced Old Elizabethans II 8-1 in the MAA Intermediate Cup, having defeated them 5-0 in the league a week earlier.
Jack Brocklehurst netted OEs’ solitary reply but only after Sean Davis and James Robinson had added to Acorn’s tally.
Crown Inn Selston were also high scorers when their seven goals consisting of a Darren Haslam hat-trick, a double from Steven Froggett and single strikes from Gareth Vardy and James Else, went unanswered by Eaton Hall College.
Despite being two goals adrift at half-time Nuthall Athletic still progressed to the next round of the Minor Cup at the expense of Sherwood Colliery who conceded the double to Rob Salmon and another goal to Colin Brown in a 3-2 scoreline.
Southwell Amateurs II were taken to a penalty shoot-out which they won 6-5 after they had been locked at 3-3 after extra time with Hickling, whose scorers were Steven Archer, Rowland Braithwaite and Simon Warburton.
In the league, having claimed their first victory of the season last week it was Pinxton North End’s turn to provide opponents Steelers with their first points in a 4-1 scoreline.
The return of Richard Langhorne for Steelers who scored twice proved decisive with Steve Gray and Nick Brooks also netting for the victors.
In Division Two the top of the table versus bottom clash brought Broadmeadows a predictable 5 – 2 victory at the expense of Town Mill who gave away two penalties.
