MOSS is to be removed from parts of Clipstone cemetery to prevent paths becoming a safety hazard for visiting mourners.
A parish council meeting was told last Wednesday that moss was making the ground slippery and one elderly woman had already slipped at the site as a result.

Councillors agreed to buy some path cleaner to remove the moss and also said something needed to be done about a wall at the cemetery, which is unstable due to tree routes pushing it to one side.

Councillors were told new fencing at the cemetery has been delivered and is expected to be fully fitted by this week.

  • Two rubbish bins will be installed near The Pit Stop shop, on Mansfield Road, after previous bins were removed while nearby road works were carried out.

  • A Clipstone Parish Council vacancy for the Kings Clipstone ward is being advertised. Anyone interested in the position should contact Pauline Jones, clerk to the council, on Mansfield 632134.

  • The next Clipstone Parish Council meeting will be held on 10th December.
