THE NOTTINGHAM Playhouse will be celebrating Christmas with a special anniversary this year, as panto star Kenneth Alan Taylor marks his 25th consecutive pantomime at the venue.
This year's production of Aladdin will see the nationally-acclaimed star writing, directing and starring in the classic tale to mark his silver jubilee year.
Aladdin follows Kenneth as he returns to the role of Widow Twankey, whisking away a young man and his lamp on a magic carpet journey filled with evil villains, bold dames and classic panto japes for all the family.
The seasoned stage performer, widely recognised as one of the last true masters of the traditional family panto, promises to mark a quarter of a century in the limelight with a performance filled with laughs and sing-along moments to celebrate the occasion.
A veteran cast is also lined up for the show, which will run from 28th November to 24th January, starring John Elkington as the evil magician Abanaza, marking his 10th anniversary at the Playhouse, and Rebecca Little as Widow Wang, who will also be celebrating a decade of performances.
Tickets for Aladdin are available now from the box office on 0115 9419419, priced £20 for adults, £18.50 concessions and £8.50 for children.
