AN angry Sutton dad is demanding action after his 12-year-old daughter was knocked down by a car outside her school.
Jessica Fox, pictured, needed five stitches to a head wound and was left shocked after the incident outside Quarrydale School on 11th November.

And this week her father Sean, of Westbourne Road, described the area outside the school as a 'death trap' due to the high volume of traffic during rush hour.

He says new safety measures, such as a crossing patrol on Stoneyford Road, need to be considered by council chiefs.

"I think it is ridiculous — the area is a death trap because people totally block up the road," Sean told Chad.

"Other schools have a crossing patrol and it should not take the death of a child before something is done.

"I don't want anything like this to happen again and see other people have to go through what we have done.

"It was awful when we got the phone call because we feared the worst."

A County Council spokesman said: "Any road accident involving a young person is a tragedy and we will be carrying out an investigation into the incident to assess if any road safety improvements are appropriate.

"The school will be having additional road safety education."

Police have confirmed that the incident is not being investigated and that the motorist was not travelling at high speed.
